We have nearly finished our inquiry into different kinds of energy and today every child was able to make a simple circuit successfully to make a light bulb work. Here are some photos of us working.

The Pompom Tree
Here is the end result of our wool construction. We all made a pompom and added them to our tree. What a great job!

In the Pink
What is Energy?
We have been exploring what energy is and what kinds of energy we can think of. We have learnt a poem that explains what we have learnt:
Moving Things.
What makes things move? What
makes things go?
It must be something that I
don’t know!
What moves the trees? What
moves a train?
What
moves leaves along and down the drain

Anzac Ceremony
The ANZAC ceremony at school on Tuesday 28 April was a great opportunity to remember those who died in Gallipoli in 1915- exactly 100 years ago. Unfortunately the weather was not suitable for our usual outdoor event so we had it inside this time.

The Big Campout
We got out the school tents and put them up on the turf because the grass was very wet. We didn't put the flies over them as we couldn't use pegs on the turf. We had some activities to do while we were camping. Here is what we did. It was really enjoyable.

Who Wants to Be a Meanie?
Meanies all do mean things
Meanies all do mean things
Meanies all do mean things
That's what meanies do.
They also sleep in rubbish tins, drink their bath water, eat old bubble gum and..... when they come to school they eat our pens and pencils and paint themselves all over.
Here is Prea's story about her impressions of Meanies:
Meanies.

ElGregoe, The Magician
ElGregoe was amazing and did some fantastic tricks. He also taught us some very important ways to have a happy time at school. He taught us big words like
Resilience
Honesty
Caring
Respect
Contributing
Abbie got to go up and helped ElGregoe when he was doing some tricks.
We wrote some stories the next day about what we liked best:
ElGregoe.
By Mikayla
I like ElGregoe. He was talking to the bee. He said,”Don’t let the balloon go.” I laughed when he did.

I like ElGregoe. He got the bird out of the big box when he clicked his fingers.
Our Class Treaty
On Monday of last week we all signed our class Treaty. We invited Mr Parsons to come and we read our treaty to him. Our treaty is a list of ideas we all came up with to make our classroom a safe and happy place. Here is what we decided:
*We will walk when inside the classroom.
*We will use quiet voices inside.
*We will always tell someone if we have to go out of the classroom.
*We will share our games and activities in class. (But not our lunches!)
*We will be kind to each other.
*We will do what the teacher says.

We also read a very good story called "The Tree Hut Treaty".
Here is our class poem about our treaty:
Class Treaty
Here are some rules for us to share
We decided they are true and fair.
We’ve called it a treaty
We’ve signed our names
We hope other classes might do the same.
So if there’s a problem as we work or play
We can all solve it in our special way. ded they are true and fair.
