Enviro Kids in Action
At the end of our Environment Inquiry we were very daring and engaged in some social action, which was very relevant to us all... On a breezy afternoon a few weeks ago we were in the playground when some dreadful smelly smoke drifted over us and left large pieces of ash falling down on our clothes and our hair. The children commented on how their eyes stung and their throats were sore and it made some of them cough. Remember this was just as we were finishing our landscapes and Environment study so was quite a real-life situation for us to deal with. The next morning we wrote some very polite but concerned letters to all the neighbours down our road who may have been the fire-lighters. Then we delivered them to letterboxes along the way. We have had no response but we felt we had done something good in pointing out our concerns!
We were proud of our letters to our neighbours.
